At Desolenator, we are on a mission to redefine desalination through cutting-edge solar thermal technology. Our SP40 Modular Desalination System is designed to deliver net-zero water solutions, and as we scale up, we need a QA/QC Manager to ensure our technology meets the highest quality and compliance standards.
This role is a unique opportunity to shape and implement quality and environmental management systems from the ground up. We are preparing for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification and are looking for someone who has experience in setting up and implementing these standards, not just maintaining them.
Your Role:
As QA/QC Manager, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and managing the quality and compliance processes that will support Desolenator’s expansion. You’ll work across engineering design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning, ensuring ISO-compliant systems that drive operational excellence and sustainability.
Key responsibilities:
🔹 System Design & ISO Implementation
- Lead the implementation of ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), building the necessary processes and documentation from the ground up.
- Develop and implement Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) to ensure compliance with ISO standards, IEC, UL certification, and other relevant codes.
- Conduct design reviews, supplier quality assessments, and internal audits.
- Identify potential quality risks and recommend corrective actions.
🔹 Fabrication & Installation
- Oversee fabrication, assembly, and field installation quality processes.
- Implement and monitor non-conformance management systems to track and resolve deviations.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), hydro tests, and equipment proof tests.
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and regulatory requirements.
🔹 Commissioning & Handover
- Develop and enforce Inspection & Testing Plans (ITP/ITC) to validate system performance.
- Ensure compliance with energy efficiency, performance, and regulatory standards.
- Provide detailed commissioning reports documenting test results, corrective actions, and system integrity.
- Oversee final handover, including as-built documentation and compliance certifications.
🔹 Ongoing Quality & Environmental Management
- Establish and maintain systems for continuous compliance monitoring with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Investigate and resolve post-commissioning defects or non-conformities.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Train and guide the team to embed quality and environmental best practices into daily operations.
What We’re Looking For:
✅ Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
- Proven experience as a QA/QC Manager in large water-related projects (desalination, wastewater, transmission).
- Direct experience in implementing ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 standards, including developing processes and documentation from scratch.
- Expertise in utility construction, rotating/static equipment, and C&I inspections.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards (minimum OSHA 10 certification).
✅ Technical Certifications (Preferred):
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.
- ASNT LEVEL ΙΙ RT, UT, PT & MT certification.
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification.
- Familiarity with ASME, API, ASTM, EN BS, ISO, SSPC, NFPA, OSHA regulations.
✅ Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of process inspection methods, welding, pressure testing, and quality risk management.
- Ability to develop and integrate ISO-compliant systems into an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset to drive quality and sustainability improvements.
- Ability to lead audits, conduct supplier assessments, and engage with contractors and stakeholders.
